February 14, 2018: Zion Oil & Gas has discovered oil and natural gas in the Megiddo-Jezreel Valley.
“I am ecstatic to see clear evidence of hydrocarbons (oil and gas) in the deeper portion of our Megiddo-Jezreel #1 well, a project that we have been working on for years. However, at this time we cannot comment on the commerciality or ability to successfully produce the well. We ask that our shareholders continue to pray for safe and successful drilling, logging, and testing operations, and for God’s wisdom for management as we make key decisions in the following days and weeks. Please be patient. We will provide further updates after we have adequate time to properly evaluate the logs and finalize our well testing program following the recent events.” Zion’s CEO, Victor G. Carrillo

February 19, 2018: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel announces a $15 billion deal to export natural gas to Egypt. See the link below for a video statement from the Prime Minister.
Noble Energy and Delek Drilling are the benefactors of the deal. They will be selling natural gas to Dolphinus Holdings of Egypt. The natural gas is coming from the Leviathan and Tamar natural gas fields off the coast of Israel in the Mediterranean Sea. 64 billion cubic meters of natural gas are expected to be exported over 10 years.
Egypt has the ability to liquefy the natural gas and transport around the world. Those liquefication plants are owned by Royal Dutch Shell. Egypt announced the deal to their public as a nameless partner.
Security of pipelines and distribution will be a factor. Historically, ISIS has vandalized pipelines in the region of the Sinai Desert.
